The wallpaper takes reference from old 1960's London curry houses, and uses the scale of the space to great effect. This restaurant project has been extremely successful, and the client has asked us to develop more restaurants nationally. We knew that to develop a store in a premium shopping centre, something had to change. Attention to the shopfront and cash desk using high quality finishes and improved lighting satisfied the landlords requirements, whilst the colour red expressed the owners Asian background. These elements have set this store apart from its' competition. In addition to the flagship store, a concept Bose Kiosk was required for Level Two. Mima Design were assigned this task, creating a stand-alone kiosk showcasing the latest in personal audio products. Strategically located in a busy intersection of Westfield Sydney, the kiosk serves as a beacon for the Bose brand gaining exposure to a wider audience and flow through to the main store on Level Six. Engineered stone and stainless steel construction were used to enhance the quality of the brand. The Norths knew they were onto a winner, when the opening day had them selling over 600 burgers. Hills Thallis Architects created the purpose built, modern building on Dover Street accommodating 1326sqm over three floors. Mima Design were responsible for all interior aspects covering retail and extensive back-of-house areas for refrigeration, cutting room, kitchen, storage and staff. As a high end premium destination for groceries, the interior design needed to reflect the high standard expected from Rose Bay locals.
