It has been over a decade since the original design for the Summit Restaurant was introduced and a remodelling was needed to attract new clientele on a more regular basis. A new menu was developed by renowned chef and owner Michael Moore, the bar was extended and redesigned to be a key element in the venue and new furniture, lighting and finishes completed the transformation. Furniture that looks second-hand, and re-used timber for cladding and benches were combined with raw formed concrete, and vibrant hand painted Mexican tiles. We injected colour with crates, engineering a feature canopy with festoon lighting, and creating seating with Mexican inspired fabrics for cushions. Plants were a key element, with succulents and cacti planted into the block walls, and custom tin cans. The highlight was the commissioning of Mexican street artist 'Neuez' to come to Australia and hand paint the feature wall. If you know street artists, he is one of the best from South America. A place where a novice or regular recreational female rider can confidently walk into and feel at home. The tight/unusual floor plan over three split levels had to provide merchandising zones for bikes, apparel, accessories and bike-fitting. Natural organic materials were selected to provide a warm and neutral backdrop for merchandising. The custom designed purple feature wall was hand-made using felt to create texture, add vibrancy and provide a link to the brand identity colour palette. Strategically located in a busy intersection of Westfield Sydney, the kiosk serves as a beacon for the Bose brand gaining exposure to a wider audience and flow through to the main store on Level Six.
